Alexandra Kosteniuk

Alexandra Kosteniuk Russia. Born 23 April 1984. Women's World Chess Champion (2008-2010). Twofold Russian champion (2005, 2016). Threefold Olympic champion as a member of the Russian women's national team (2010, 2012, 2014). Fourfold European champion as a member of the Russian women's national team (2007, 2009, 2011, and 2015). Silver medalist of the Women's World Team Chess Championship as a member of the Russian women's national team (2011, 2015). Vice-champion of the Women's World Rapid Chess Championship (2012). Twofold Chess960 women's world champion (2006, 2008). European champion (2004).

Alexandra Kosteniuk is not only a strong grandmaster but also a very talented popularizer of chess. She is the author of sereval books and the owner of «Chess is Cool» podcast, which informs her fans about her life and current chess events.

In 2014 Kosteniuk was rewarded with the Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" I class.  

Alexandra worked as model and also acted in the film "Bless the Woman" by Stanislav Govorukhin.
